You sit down at your table.  The waiter is nice.  You order a salad, a steak, and a baked potato.  Your salad arrives almost immediately.  Wonderful.  A few more minutes pass, and your plate arrives.  On it are a nice looking steak cooked just the way you like it and French fries.  You didn't order French fries.  You ordered a baked potato.  Are you going to ask for your potato?  You absolutely should.  You paid for a baked potato. Get your potato.

Get your potato everywhere you go.  There's no need to be rude.  To the contrary, remain positive and expect your desired results.  For example, education is one place where people often don't get their potatoes.  Since education seems free, it's value is easily underappreciated.  However, school is expensive.  According to the Education Data Initiative (link below), the most recent data shows that for each pupil $17,277 is spent annually - that's amounts to almost $900,000,000,000/year!

At school, are you getting your potato?  Are you asking questions when something isn't clear?  Are you reading the books before the lecture?  Are you doing the homework?  Are you building a foundation of knowledge that you can build upon the rest of your life?  Or, are you talking in class or otherwise not paying attention?  Are you never reading the books?  Are you neglecting your homework?  Are you building your life on a foundation of sand?  Are you getting your potato or not?

In many parts of life, getting your potato is more subtle.  Often, you are the waiter, and you neglect your own potato.  What is your trajectory?  Where will you be in five years?  You should be able to provide an answer with certainty.  Are your decisions leading you where you want to go or in the opposite direction?  Are you unhealthy and still making unhealthy decisions?  Are you unhealthy and making healthy decisions?  Which way are you headed?  Demand your potato - from you too.

Expect a great life and live it.  Life is a roller coaster.  Don't be miserable or scared.  Enjoy the ride.  In this life, I've lost everything I've had on more than one occasion.  I've had people try to kill me.  I've drank urine to survive.  I've been homeless.  I've been with beautiful women.  I've played music and sang.  I've ate the best food.  I've applied my knowledge and fluorished.  I am always fulfilled.  Through it all, I got my potato every time.  Get your potato too.  Godspeed.
