Read One Page a Day from The Daily Stoic uploaded image

Ever tell yourself that you don't have time to read?  The Daily Stoic will delete that excuse!  There is one page for every day of the year that contains sage advice from some of the best Stoic minds including Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius.  For today, August 11th, we have a relevant quote from the Lectures of Musonius Rufus:

"When the problem arose for us whether habit or theory was better for getting virtue - if by theory is meant what teaches us correct conduct, and by habit we mean being accustomed to act according to this theory - Musonius thought habit to be more effective."

What are your habits?  Are they leading you where you want to go?  Are your habits leading you to be the best version of yourself?  Or, are they leading you to destruction?  According to research performed by Dr. Phillippa Lally, it can take an individual anywhere from 18 days to 9 months to establish a habit.  Instant results are an illusion dreamt up by our fast-food society. Humans aren't pudding.  Progress takes time.

One of the best habits you can establish as an individual seeking to grow is to begin reading a little everyday.  In The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, he accurately states that just reading 10 pages a day from a good book results in having read 3,650 pages a year!  Let one page of your ten this first year come from The Daily Stoic!  Link below.
