Coding with Claude Code CLI is a pleasure!  He's not always perfect, but with the proper approach, implementation is much faster than working alone.  Today, we implemented the desktop navigation you see at the left (if you're on a desktop or laptop).  It required modification of the existing CSS grid, and I knew it would be a chore.  We overcame some spacing and functionality issues, but altogether the plan I had Claude create beforehand was solid.  Thanks for doing good work, Anthropic.

As I hinted at above, when coding with Claude, it's a good idea to state your prompt as clearly as possible for the task at hand, have Claude ask you as many clarification questions as needed, answer his questions thoroughly, and have him write a detailed plan for your review before documenting it in a markdown file.  In this fashion, both of you have a clear understanding of the phases, and it offers you the ability as the developer to intervene early to address any miscommunications.

Furthermore, if you're working on or troubleshooting visual issues, Claude can interpret images.  If words aren't quite working for you because the description would be too long for your liking or it's just easier to show than tell, you can take a screenshot, place it in the working directory, and have Claude take a look at it.  It makes life easier.

As we transition into this new paradigm, where a single individual can do the work of a team of programmers in a fraction of the time and cost by working with an AI assistant, I think we're going to find that creative types - that maybe didn't like math or logic in school - are going to start transitioning into programming.  Technology has a strange way of reshaping the workforce in unexpected ways. We may end up with more programmers - not less. Go figure.

I'm currently reading DEEP LEARNING by Goodfellow, Bengio, and Courville, and as I read, I'm starting to get the gut feeling that it won't be long until human life can become much less burdensome.  People are always concerned about new technology replacing their jobs, but history demonstrates that technology tends to create more jobs than it takes.  Go ask a heavy equipment operator (a skill in which I'm very proficient) if they would rather use a shovel.

Brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, for the tide that's coming.  Kids are using AI to quiz them over their schoolwork.  Businesspeople are using AI to help draw up business plans.  Industrious folks are using AI to help block their time efficiently (including myself).  AI is being used to create a new paradigm with nearly endless possibilities for its application.  Don't be weary.  Embrace it.  Go tell an AI what you do and what you want to achieve, and ask it how it can help. Godspeed.
