People speak things into existence - both negative and positive.  It's okay to talk to yourself but keep it upbeat.  Get in the habit of assuming the best case scenario instead of the worst.  When you wake up in the morning, have a positive talk with yourself in the mirror.  When you go to bed, tell yourself aloud what you plan to achieve and by when you plan to achieve it.  Do this every morning and every night.  Talk to yourself with positive intent.

The subconscious mind is very powerful.  Our habitual actions are largely governed by it.  For example, ex-smokers can be seen reaching for where they used to keep their cigarettes.  They aren't doing this consciously.  It's automatic.  After a while of doing something repeatedly, the task gets handed over to the subconsious.  The same is true for healthy behaviors. People who workout often say, "I got to go to the gym."  They don't say, "I might..." because they are being driven subconsciously.

To your benefit, the subconsious mind can be trained.  This is called self-suggestion or autosuggestion.  Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right," and he was right.  By maintaining a can-do mindset, you unleash a productive optimized version of yourself that can overcome obstacles that once might have seemed insurmountable.  The first trick is telling yourself you can - literally and out loud.

Repeatedly affirm to yourself that you are the person that is achieving your ultimate aim - not maybe or in the future, you are now.  Before bed is the most important time to do this.  Make this a habit.  Speak out loud to yourself in an undisturbed setting every night before bed without missing a night for the rest of your life.  This is not made up.  The subconscious mind is the most powerful tool in your arsenal.  Employ it to your advantage.

You will mold your life by your thoughts and by what you say.  You have the choice whether it is positive or negative.  Don't be fooled.  Misfortune is not by accident.  Successful people are successful because they overcome obstacles.  Successful people use failure as fuel to learn and optimize their trajectories.  Successful people talk to themselves with positive intent, and so should you.  Godspeed.
