Persist to Achieve

There is no substitute for persistence.  What is the alternative? Quiescent submission to failure is unacceptable to anyone who has a burning desire to succeed.  The show must go on.  Continue on your path.  Expect obstacles and overcome them.  Persist until you achieve.

Don't be subjugated by the musings of popular culture.  I have a friend that was a bartender in college.  He really liked a pretty blonde that got hired, and he asked her out.  She said no.  In cordial humor, he persisted.  He continued to ask her out - repeatedly.  He kept the mood light and humorous, but he was serious.  There was something about her that drew him in.  She continued saying no until she said yes.  They are married now and have several children.

Like my friend, keep a positive outlook.  Do you think he would have gotten the girl if he had gotten butthurt or angry about her saying no the first several times?  Of course not.  She would have immediately detected his negativity, and he would have entered the creep zone.  Remaining positive is half the battle.

You are worthy of success.  It's okay if others doubt you.  There is virtually nothing you can do about what someone else thinks.  However, don't doubt yourself.  In the history of humanity, individuals have achieved great things with much fewer resources than what we have at our disposal today.  Reach for the stars.  Your limits are set by your attitude.  You are worthy, and you can succeed.  Believe it faithfully.

Embrace failure as a temporary setback and an opportunity to learn.  In the book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill speaks about Thomas Edison's quest to develop the light bulb.  Edison failed 10,000 times before he got the design worthy of widespread use.  Have you failed 10,000 times yet at what you're trying to accomplish?  Failure is not to be stigmatized.  Persist.

Do you know where you want to go in life?  Are your decisions getting you there?  Do you have a plan to get started?  Have you taken action on the plan?  What is something you could do today to bring you a little closer?  Is your outlook positive?  Are you allowing others or your own negativity to prevent you from moving forward?  Get a start.  Stick to it.  Adjust as necessary.  Succeed.  If you persist, the World cannot stop you.
